Starting as third batter and third baseman, Kim appeared in the bottom of the second inning with two outs and no runners while his team was leading 5-0. Against Lee Seung-min, the second pitcher of the team, Kim pushed a fastball of 142 kilometers to hit a solo home run. The flying distance measured 115 meters. KIA led 6-0 with Kim Do-young's home run. Besides homers, Kim had RBI and stolen bases, showing stellar performance. 

After the game, Kim said, "First of all, I was happy to win two consecutive games in Gwangju. It was an honor to play in front of so many people." 

Kim Do-young hit a grounder to the second base with one out and runners on the second and third bases in the bottom of the first inning of the second game. "When I analyzed Hwang Dong-jae, I heard that the ball moves a lot and it was difficult to hit," Kim said. "I didn't get a bunt sign, but I tried to bunt it. I was satisfied that I consciously tried to hit a grounder to the second base (with runners on the second and third bases made due to opponent's error)." 

Regarding the home run, he said, "Even though there were many differences in scores, I felt that it was a very meaningful home run. Above all, I feel great because it was my first home run in KS. I felt great. I think I expressed it strongly." 

As for the preparation process, he said, "I felt uncomfortable during the break. I think I only blamed the weather. I just thought what if the weather was nice. I played with a strong heart." 

"I tried to sleep early for my best condition," Kim said. "I was honored to be in the Korean Series, and I tried to keep my routine better than the regular season. Above all, the weather was nice and it was a perfect day. I think I had confidence," he added, explaining the background of his performance.
